Fury and Wilder would be looking to end their feud, when they face off for the WBC belt. The trilogy fight we’ve all been waiting for is finally here as Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41KOs) takes on WBC World Champion Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21KOs), knowing defeat will end any hopes of a fourth and deciding bout between the two. Following a draw in their first encounter and an overwhelming victory for Fury in the second, the third installment is set to be another intriguing battle between technically the best heavyweight on the planet and a fighter that most believe only has a right hand, albeit a rather deadly one. Strap yourselves in for another night of heavyweight championship boxing with our preview and predictions for the highly anticipated trilogy.

Fury has had the better of the two fights so far, looking the better fighter in the first before Wilder knocked him down to win a 10-8 12th round and nick a stalemate.

However, the Gypsy King showed his true class when winning by TKO in the seventh round of the rematch, and this provides Wilder one final chance at redemption.

The Mancunian heads into this as the heavy odds-on favourite, and based on the first two meetings it’s easy to see why.

It’s fair to say that Fury outboxed Wilder on both occasions, and even if Wilder’s record is arguably more convincing having knocked out all but two of his opponents, one of those opponents is Fury himself.

There’s little doubt that both of these fighters are capable of knocking the other out, and at this level and in this category, it can only take one punch to land in order to do that.

However, the Englishman looks the more complete fighter, with his change of strategy for the second fight proving he can win a fight in more ways than one, and for that reason the onus is very much on Wilder to get the win via the only method he knows how and that’s by KO or TKO.

With the knockout records these two have it’s difficult to see this going all the way again.

Wilder will likely improve from their second bout, but in that match the two fighters seemed worlds apart and unless that gulf in class can be closed considerably here, the Fury win via KO or TKO looks like the way to go.
