Harvey Elliott has thanked all of the fans inside Elland Road for the support they showed the 18-year-old immediately after he had suffered a heavy injury to his ankle.
Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has sent a "massive thanks" to Leeds United fans and everyone inside Elland Road following his devastating ankle injury which he suffered in Liverpool's 3-0 triumph on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Mohamed Salah, Fabinho and Sadio Mane were sadly all overshadowed for Liverpool after the 18-year-old suffered a horror injury following a tackle from Pascal Struijk - who saw red as his result.

Liverpool Football Club had revealed that Elliott had been discharged from Leeds General Infirmary last night and will undergo more tests as the club look to diagnose the full damage suffered to his ankle.

And on Monday morning, Elliott took to Instagram to thank both Leeds and Liverpool fans in Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, as he expressed his gratitude for the support and applause he received immediately after he had suffered the injury.

"I'm of course absolutely devastated with what happened yesterday at Leeds, but have been totally overwhelmed by the love and support shown to me by the entire football world following the injury.

"Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out or sent messages to me and my family, it means so much to us. Also a massive thanks to everyone inside Elland Road for the reception you gave me immediately after it happened.

"I am now focused on my recovery and will give everything in my rehabilitation to be back out there as soon as I can. I know I have an incredible support network behind me at Liverpool and together we will get through this.

"To all the Liverpool fans, your support means the world to me. I'm one of you and I can't wait to be back faster and stronger to help the team. "
